Fall is one of my all-time-favorite seasons to decorate for, so I’ll warn you up front that this post is insanely picture laden. I just couldn’t help myself!

The Mudroom

I shared my fall mudroom and entrywaywith you yesterday. If you’d like to see even more pretty pictures of this small spot be sure to click the link.

I clipped those beautiful berries last week while taking a walk in a park (also known as scavenging for fall foliage to steal). The berries were growing on a vine in someone’s yard but huge sprigs were hanging over the fence on the park-side. That’s fair game where I come from! I think they are oriental bittersweet and they have HUGE thorns on them which attacked me. OUCH!They are certainly pretty though and were worth the pain.

I brought my DIY X-leg ottomandownstairs from the guest room and it reminded me that I had made curtainsfrom this same fabric a zillion years ago. Hmmmm….those curtains would look great in my dining room for fall! And so goes the musical chairs of decorating in my home. Curtains are swapped out. Furniture is moved around. Rooms are robbed of baskets and wall decor and everything gets turned upside down until I like what I see before me. It’s a fun creative process that I know many of you can relate to!

If you can’t at all relate, my advice to you new friend is be not afraid to shop thy house!Moving objects around from room to room is delightful and a FREE decorating idea that makes you space feel shiny and new without spending a cent.

The Dining Room

My stag is a prime example of my wandering decor. He has been in my dining room, craft room, bedroom, and now entryway. I’m pretty sure he’ll make his way to other rooms in the housebefore the year is through!

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (7)

I freshened up the dining room this season by switching out the mirror, removing some side lanterns, and adding white plates to the wall.

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (8)

My gorgeous centerpiece is from Birch Lane who provided me with a few fun fall accessories this year. These are called the Golden Pumpkin Trio and they are magnificent. They aren’t quite mercury glass and are more like tarnished silver. I love their simplicity.

Belowyou can see the curtains I made a zillion years ago peeking through! I was so pleased to pull them out of storage and see that they worked in here.

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (10)

When decorating for fall, I love to use elements from nature and accessories made from wood, rope, sisal, and stone. Myturned candleholderswere the perfect place for some baby boo pumpkins. By the way, do you know how hard it is to find baby boos in early September? Harder than I thought it would be. I had to call several different markets before finding them. They are my favorites!

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (11)

I used my DIY Tea-Light Logand limelight hydrangeas to complete my fall dining room. The brick wall is always helpful in adding character to my space!

The Family Room

I don’t think I have ever “revealed” the entire redecorated family room on the blog, so you get a bonus room reveal today!

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (13)

My nesting coffee tables were a Joss & Main find awhile back and the Boardwalk Round Tray and the Nantucket Cloche with Ropeare from Birch Lane. Coffee table decorating is always made easier by corralling objects with trays!

Tip: Hot glue your used wine corks to the glass of an old picture frame to create an instant coaster.”

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (15)

My end tables were also a Joss & Main find and they are a bit tall for the sectional but perfect for our needs. I love to create little seasonal vignettes on them and switch up the fillers inside my glass lamp. This season I chose to fill my lamp with cut wood rounds. When decorating with neutral colors,I like to add a lot of varying texture to keep things from looking too flat. I love how all of these earthy items work together!

Pictured below is my other end table vignette. And if you’ve been following me for some time you’ll recognize my antique Bible which I try to work into every vignette! Those glasses resting on top are my actual glasses. I amblind without my glasses or contacts.

My recently painted vintage buffet is settling in nicely at it’s new location! I’m currently using it as our entertainment unit and loving it.

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (18)

Decorating around a televisionis always a challenge. I kept it very simple with some painted pumpkins and preserved wheat bunches. The pumpkins are all real but weren’t the color I wanted so I painted and glazed them!

One last look back at the living room before my kids come home from school like little Tasmanian devils and destroy it all.

The Fall Mantel

Speaking of my boys, my 10 yr old told me that he’s “not feeling” some of my fall decorating this year but that my mantel is “a masterpiece”.Okay Simon Cowell, thanks for the feedback! LOL! That’s what you get when you raise them to have their own discerning decor eye. But I was glad that he at least approved of the mantel because it went through several different “rough drafts” before arriving at the finished product.

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (21)

The Arbor Wall Artfrom Birch Lane was the inspiration for the entire mantel. I wanted to create a lush bounty of fall at the base of the tree so used things I had on hand. Silk hydrangeas, pinecones, feather picks, painted acorns, and an unraveled grapevine wreath did the trick!

The Kitchen

I always find my kitchen to be the most difficult room in the house to photograph, but it’s my favorite room in the house so I need to figure it out!

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (24)

Our breakfast nook is where we eat most of our meals and where mostof the homework and family chats happen. It gets so much use that I try and keep things very simple and washable in here! The seat cushions are from H&M and are sprayed with NeverWet. The centerpiece is a Preserved Salal arrangement by Birch Lane and is great for everyday use.

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (25)

The fall touches in the kitchen are subtle and can bring me all the way through Halloween and Thanksgiving if I desire. I reused the painted dollar store silhouette plates that I create two years ago as well as a few accessories I had on hand.

Fall Home Tour: Fall Decorating Ideas (26)

The vintage silhouette below is actually of my husband as a baby! I found it in our basem*nt and dusted it off for the occasion. His cute little profile is so much like my Zephan’s. I just love it.
