Top 117 Reviews From Legit Lingo Buyers (2024)

Lingo LLC acquired Excel Communications some time ago. They have not updated the contact information on the Excel billing invoices to any of the Excel customer base. Excel.com is gone. Many toll free numbers for payment, or for access to your account try to transfer you to a disconnected number, then hang up. The number to pay is being disconnected due to them wanting you to pay through another communications website.

There is a special number for Excel customers, and a strange website to pay on, but none of the customer service agents knew how the consumers are supposed to know that. They shut off your service, provide incorrect information on the message they leave when trying to use the phone, the invoice is totally incorrect, then they give the run around when you do get a hold of someone. Most the customer service links on Lingo go nowhere. They shut off your service to get you to call in (provide wrong number), then charge you a late fee.

After decades of being with Excel, I had enough and asked to close my account. They literally told me I would have to pay in full before I could close my account, but that the department needed for payment was closed and to call call back later? Of course, you can go to Excel.com...(it's gone). A Manager said I had opportunity to pay, (when I didn't), and basically blamed it on the customer, even though she knew first hand about the bogus Excel invoices and the payment system changing to another website (Interconnection ltd I think).

80% of the agents claimed there wasn't a late fee applied, and the 3rd part website did not provide the details. Even though the Manager did say that it was good that I brought up the details about the bad Excel invoices, she didn't ask about any of the phone numbers, or for additional details. Nope, just like the rest of the Lingo culture; Sorry for the inconvenience, (but you don't expect anything to change, right???)

Unbelievable that they can get away with providing erroneous information, shut you off, charge you late fees then blame it on you when you finally get a hold of someone in Customer Service. It's what consumers get from companies that are only focused on the bottom line and don't have a way to improve based upon customer feedback. This has been going on for quite some time, and they can't update the Excel billing statements?,..,naaa, not important to them. Let me guess, if they do respond, it will be the cookie cutter response, which will include their favorite "sorry for the inconvenience". Sorry only means something when you try and make sure it doesn't happen again. They don't care.
