The Tracker Alliance is a new faction in Starfield where you can join a rag-tag ground of bounty hunters chasing their marks across the stars. As with all factions in Starfield, the Track Alliance comes with its own storyline that players can complete to receive various endings and rewards. The Vulture is the second major quest in this faction’s storyline and essential to finish if players want to join the Tracker Alliance.

After you have completed the Starjacker introduction mission in Starfield, players will receive the second faction quest, dubbed The Vulture. The Tracker Alliance is part of the new Creations content enabled, introduced in Starfield's recent update. The Vulture quest and most other Tracker Alliance content are all made by Bethesda, and this mission costs 1,000 credits. After paying for and downloading the Creations content, you can start on this new mission in Starfield.

One Rare Starfield Planet Proves There Are Interesting Places; They're Just Hard To Find

Starfield has been criticized for its repetitive planets, but one player has found a world that proves there are still interesting places out there.

How To Start The Vulture Mission

Unlocked Via The Creation Menu

It is important to point out that the Vulture quest is not available in the base game and must be bought from the Creation many to enable it. To start The Vulture quest, you must join the Tracker Alliance and complete the initial Starjacker quest. To join this faction in Starfield, meet with the Mysterious Tracker outside of Cydonia, a city found on Mars.

From here, you will go to Akila City in the Cheyenne System to start and complete your first quest. After you have finished introducing the Bethesda-made faction, you can go to the bounty board and pick up The Vulture quest. If you need a video walkthrough of this press, you can also check out LunarGaming's video on YouTube above.

To start this quest, you must visit Sumati, a planet in the Narion System. This is just west of Cheyenne, the planet you were probably already on when starting The Vulture quest.

After you land at the marked Military Outpost, you should find an NPC sitting at a table. The NPC reveals himself as an agent but claims that The Vulture is watching you both. After the dialog, the agent is suddenly killed, and players are thrown into an ambush as Vulture mercenaries attack from all directions.

Where To Find KoiOS

After you survive the ambush, you should pick up the Operation Orders note. This will lead players to a cave only 300 meters from the ambush site. There are several enemies in the cave, but so long as you are level 30 or higher, they shouldn’t pose much of a threat. Inside the cave, you will find plenty of information regarding The Vulture, primarily on a computer with a file dubbed “Paxton’s Vulture.” This will tell you The Vulture’s real name, Cephas Hughes.

Now that you have The Vulture’s real name, you can return to the Tracker Alliance headquarters in Akila City to speak with KoiOS. This is a helpful robot loyal to the Tracker Alliance that will be able to help players decipher Paxton’s Vulture file. KaiOS is found in the headquarters' basem*nt lounge. Whenever you speak with KaiOS, select the dialog option that asks about Cephas Hughes. You will get your next destination from here: a room at the Paradiso Hotel.

Where To Find The Vulture

Your next task is to visit Cephas Hughes’ last known location, a hotel room on Paradiso. Paradiso is a resort found in the Porrima System on the planet Porrima II. When you arrive on the earth, head straight to the Paradiso resort, ascend the elevator to the third-floor guest rooms, and track down room 303. On the window-facing dresser inside, you should spot an item named the Recon Report.

Opening this will trigger another ambush from Vulture Mercenaries from the hotel hallways. After you defeat this wave of enemies, head back to the Paradiso exit.

The Vulture will shoot at you with a sniper rifle from the cliffs by your ship. This is not a particularly difficult enemy to defeat, but his advantageous position makes him significantly more challenging to shoot. It is best to head left out of the Paradiso and go up the rocks to get a better shot on The Vulture.

Once in sight, unload until you have whittled his health bar to near zero. Unlike other enemies, the Vulture will not immediately die; instead, he will kneel over, with a chance to interact with this elusive target one final time.

Should You Kill Or Spare The Vulture

Which Choice Is Best

Once you have neutralized The Vulture outside of the Paradiso in Starfield, you can kill or spare the mercenary. If you elect to speak with The Vulture in an attempt to spare his life, you will need to pass a reasonably difficult Speech check.

It is best to ensure you level up your persuasion skill before doing this, as failure will result in The Vulture ultimately choosing death. If successful, The Vulture lives and willingly turns himself into the Trackers Alliance.

Of course, you do not need to spare The Vulture and can immediately end the quest by shooting or striking the NPC one last time. There is no natural consequence for killing The Vulture in Starfield. No matter your choice to save or spare him, you can take his loot and complete the quest. After you are done, it is time to return to the Tracker Alliance headquarters in Akila City to turn in your quest and retrieve the rest of your rewards.

Rewards For Completing The Vulture Mission

Players are rewarded with several items for completing The Vulture mission in Starfield. First, you can acquire The Vulture’s attire, including the Vulture Veteran Duelwear and the Vulture Dustwear. The biggest prize of all is the Calibrated Arboron Novastrike Sniper. You might remember this well as the sniper this NPC used to shoot at you from the cliffs of the Paradiso. This is easily one of the best weapons in Starfield and well worth the trouble if you lean toward a ranged playstyle.

Alongside these items, you also gain 25,000 Credits upon completing the quest. The Tracker Alliance has only two main story missions, including Starjacker and The Vulture.

You can still pick up other side missions from the bounty board, which will send you on quests to find, capture, or kill various criminals or criminal ships, but for now, your main story missions with the Trackers Alliance will be on pause. Bethesda may add more Creations content to Starfield in the future, but for now, this is all for the newest faction in the game.
