One of the largest pieces of new content coming from the June update in Starfield is the addition of Tracker Alliance missions. The Tracker Alliance is a formal bounty-hunting faction in the Settled Systems and you can join their ranks after completing the first few main story quests in Starfield. There are two official Tracker Alliance missions following the June update, with the first called "The Starjacker."

The Starjacker is your introduction to the Tracker Alliance and it sends you on an incredible bounty hunt. However, it can be confusing to start The Starjacker mission, and completing it is no easy task either. To see the quest from start to finish in Starfield, check out the guide below.

Starting The Starjacker in Starfield

To begin The Starjacker mission, you have to be a few quests deep into the main story of Starfield. It's unclear exactly how far you need to be, but it's not immediately available on a new save file. If you're unable to start the quest, continue along the main story. Once you've progressed far enough, all you need to do is visit Cydonia on Mars in the Sol system. After getting off your ship, head past the Ship Services Technician and go to the front entrance to Cydonida. There, you should see an NPC by the name of "Mysterious Tracker," who hails you down.

Speak with the Mysterious Tracker to learn more about the Trackers Alliance. They'll tell you about their headquarters in Akila City, which is where you need to head next.

Visiting the Trackers Alliance HQ

The Trackers Alliance HQ is located just past The Rock and the Terrabrew in Akila City on the northeast side. Enter the front door and speak with Agent No. 1, who is in an all-black spacesuit at the back of the room. Agent No. 1 asks you about joining the Trackers Alliance and offers you a chance to prove your worth out in the field. You'll be completing a mission, The Starjacker, with another agent named Roach.

You can accept The Starjacker bounty from the board inside the HQ and speak with Roach after you're done talking with Agent No. 1. Roach says he's after a consecutive bounty record and gives you the rundown of the mission. You're after a man named Hannibal, who is stationed at a location called the Chop Shop. The problem is, no one knows where the Chop Shop is located, so you need to hunt down a man named Adrastos, who might know where it is.

Finding and Confronting Adrastos

Adrastos is wandering the streets of Akila City, and you have to use the new bounty-scanner system in Starfield to find him. To use the system, simply pull out your scanner and start walking around Akila City. When you find your target, they'll glow red and show an active bounty. Adrastos is located towards the back of Akila City, behind The Rock and near the overhanging tarp. However, depending on how long you take to find him, Adrastos could move to a different location, so keep your scanner out until you see a red target.

After finding Adrastos, speak with him and make use of some humorous dialogue to make him spill his guts. It turns out Adrastos does know where Hannibal and the Chop Shop are, so Roach devises a plan to use him as bait to gain access to the location while in a decoy ship.

Entering the Chop Shop

The Chop Shop is found within the Andromas star system, which is a quick jump to the northwest from Akila City in Cheyenne. When you enter the Andromas system, drive your ship straight until you're hailed by the Chop Shop. Adrastos will talk the hailer into letting you dock at the Chop Shop, which you can do right after the conversation ends.

From there, board the Chop Shop, leaving Adrastos on board the ship. When you get inside the Chop Shop, you'll immediately notice the entire building is in zero-G, so you'll have to fly around without gravity. The location has plenty of Spacer enemies, which you can either shoot or leave behind. Follow the first quest markers until you have to ascend a red-lit tunnel. At this point, Roach says you can fire off a missile from a nearby ship to gain entry into the Loading Bay. However, access to the ship is only possible through the Command Tower.

Finding the Command Tower Key

The Command Tower is found back the way you came, near the ship with the missile you need to fire. There are two doors into the tower but both are locked from the inside, so you have to find the Command Tower Key to enter. The Command Tower Key is only looted from a single Spacer enemy that you kill around the Command Tower. For me, the enemy was right near the left door of the tower, but your experience may vary.

Once you have the Command Tower Key, use it to access the tower and the computer inside. On the computer, select "Inventory Logs" and then the "Sunsail" file. This is the name of the ship in the hangar with the missile. The file states that the Sunsail's keys are locked up in a man named Niklas' locker, which is found within the Crew Quarters of the building.

Unlocking the Sunsail and Firing the Missile

Follow the quest marker to the Crew Quarters, where you'll need to dispatch a few enemies. You can then loot the Sunsail Key inside a locker and head back out to the entrance of the Sunsail ship. Inside the ship, go to the computer and select the "Debug Menu." Here, scroll down until you see the box for "Missile Pod," which you need to click. Exit the computer after doing so and the missile will fire, creating a large hole at the top of the red tunnel you visited earlier.

Go through the smokey hole in the wall to reach the Loading Bay, where three high-level Spacers are waiting to fight you. One is a level 48 Spacer Predator, which you need to watch out for. After the three enemies are gone, enter the door in Hangar C to confront Hannibal.

Learning About Hannibal

Entering through the Hangar C door, you'll run into Hannibal in a hallway. This would normally mean the quest is over, but there's, of course, a catch. It turns out the man in the hallway isn't Hannibal; instead, they're a body double named Deke who assumes the role of Hannibal when he's away. As you might expect by this point, Adrastos, who's still on your ship, is the real Hannibal. After learning this, the real Hannibal comes over the intercom and states he's taking the ship you took here, but leaving you with another so you're not stranded.

Hannibal also says he's leaving a few goodies behind for you to take, which are found in a chest at the end of the hallway. You can decide what to do with Deke, but there's no reason to take him with you or kill him.

Taking the Loot and Completing the Quest

The chest at the end of the hallway contains several new pieces of armor and weapons. You can loot the Shipbreaker's Cutter, a new weapon, as well as the Advanced Arc Might Plasma Cutter and the Advanced Extreme Temperature armor set. There's also an Astra there, which is a currency that becomes useful later on in the Trackers Alliance. You'll also want to take the Junker Watchdog Key, giving you access to the ship you take back to Akila City.

In Akila City, return to Agent No. 1 and tell him how the mission went. Roach vouches for your prowess as a bounty hunter and Agent No. 1 dubs you an official tracker. You get to pick your official codename, I went with "Shadow," and gain access to new bounties as well as a downstairs lounge in the HQ. The rewards for completing The Starjacker quest are:

  • 10,000 Credits
  • Calibrated Trackers Alliance Space Helmet and Gear
